Angry Anyone ever had liver problems?

No joke, my doctor has informed me that the MRI that I took showed a 4 cm lesion. They think from the MRI that it is benign, but they want a biopsy to be sure. They think that it is not related the blood chemistry problems described below.

Meanwhile, My liver enzymes (blood work) are both normal then extremely high. This problem causes an itching all over my body. That drives me crazy. It seems my liver is not filtering out dead red blood cells from my body as it should.

I have been checked for all the liver diseases, hepatitis, HIV and the such, all negative. My liver and associated organs appear normal, no cirrhosis.

I see a Gastro guy tomorrow to see if he can figure out what is going on. I know the biopsy is coming soon to rule out cancer.

Im scared and wondering if any of you went through this. I do not drink, just a beer or two at a picnic or holiday gathering, nothing big.

Keep me in your prayers as I go through the process of finding out what is wrong.

Itching all over sounds quite unpleasant. Appears like the trouble shooting is progressing and hopefully they get you better soon. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

When you say itching.. has it got to the point where you have almost like soars/rash over your body?

I'm about to go back to the doc for another round of steriod shots, pills, and creams. Only way I can get rid of it.

Several years ago I developed a rash that covered my whole body, head to toe. Went to see a dermatologists and his opinion was Agent Orange exposure when I was in Vietnam. It was a horrible experience for me that lasted three or four weeks. I hope like hell it doesn't happen again, the itching and sours where terrible. I forget what he gave me, but I had to apply twice a day for three weeks, but the truth is, he really didn't know what caused it. Never happend since. I know what your going through and it sucks big time. Hope you get better soon
Edit- Yup, I had shots and pills too.
Steve
