well i just got a ipod touch and its replacing my ipod video that was stolen and well i used it mainly in my truck with music videos, now this touch when playing vids it will only go by artists and not play all my vids, just one artist then i have to pick another, is there a way to change this?

also whats up with this jailbreak i keep hearing about ive looked around but the little info i found its a way to install more software to it? whats the advantages of doing it?

 

im not sure bout the vid question but jailbreaking is hacking the ipod and getting all the apps and custom stuff you can get on an iphone onto your ipod touch. its illegal and will void your warranty and if you screw up you may have a $300 brick. Some say you can just restore your original OS in itunes, but others say youre ****ed.

 

as for shuffling videos i dont know but i jailbroke my ipod touch. its safe and easy, and its like opening your eyes for the first time. there are so many
more programs that you couldnt even dream of getting. things that really actually matter and stuff that could help you out. like a MPG calculator or a text editor. or solitare or air hockey. or a program to change the theme of the ipod etc etc.


i did it, then restored to make sure my ipod was okay.

then downgraded and jailbroke it again. worked perfect.

 

.......ok well i must have gotten ahold of a super touch because mine came with iphone web apps as a book mark and i have installed several, i almost have 2 and a half pages of apps, and it came with youtube,safari, calender, weather, maps,clock, notes, calculator, stocks, email.....it came with 1.1.3 software and the first thing i did was upgrade to 1.1.4 but it had all that stuff before id upgraded, but i have read that you can upgrade i think to 1.1.3 to get the

i assume you paid $300 for it? The January upgrade came with a bunch of iphone apps. And the ability to do a few mroe things. It costs people 20 bucks on itunes to get them, should be free one apple realizes nobody wants to pay for an upgrade. I ended up getting mine for $280 because it didnt have the new software.


the texting is just a webapp i think. I dont think its 100% free either. Just a free trial i thought. If it is free then i need to get a hold of it!

 

Yeah the new firmware on them comes with alot of iphone things.


Cole, those texts ya sent from it....came to me as picture messages it was odd

 

so i have no reason to jailbreak it then correct?

the texting is basically emailing its just a web app that you put your email in then the persons number and your message and then they reply to your email and you can reply to that through your email so should be free

 

hey whats the name of the web app. I was lookin through the TXTing apps but didnt see one like u are talkin bout.

 

webapps are a joke. you have to have internet to use any of them. the apps i have on my ipod arent like that they are way better.

IMO jailbreak it. i cant explain half the things you can get
