59 Ford?

I found this old Ford during a four wheeling trip. About 30 miles from the nearest decent road! But, I'm goin to take those bird looking things off the lower rear panel and polish 'em up and stick 'em on the lower rear doors on the F-150. With some 3M tape of course. What do y'all think?

I can't imagine it would take that much time to polish those emblems. If nothing else, he could probably get some good money from ebay for a set of original emblems.

I think that's a stupid idea. They would look dumb and out of place on your truck.
Now cleaning them up and selling them on ebay - that's a good idea.

A 2 door sedan in an upper trim level becasue of the four "bird looking things" on the fender. Lesser models had three. Too bad it's in such tough shape it would be worth restoring if you were an old Ford man. My Grandpa had a '59 four door sedan, six cylinder with three on the tree. He and my Grandmother used to drive it to Las Vegas in the early sixties. Maybe he was part of the mob there back then I don't know!

Hell, put them on you truck. Be a conversation starter. Hey man what are those? Where did you get them? etc... I thought about getting the old style emblem with 331 on my truck.

They had some small all chrome ones I liked. Look dumb... maybe? Would many other people have them? Nope.

Oh, I'm goin to do it! But, I might just clean 'em up and paint them instead. Just because my truck dosn't have much chrome on it. And havin them the same color as the pin stripe would just look killer! I'm also looking for the old school ford V8 emblems.. Might have to hit up ebay

I like those 331 emblems also!!!

Looks like you ran into one of the lesser known ford creations........THE EDSEL!

They only made that car for 2 years. 1958-59 i belive. Kinda ugly for the times, and it never sold well. but some folks fix em up and restore them. One of my uncles has a wagon that was fixed up pretty good.

Anyway, your best bet is to pull off some of the chrome and ebay it!!

Actually, it's a 59 Fairlane.. But there isn't much any good on it at all! This picture is of the good side! The other side, the roof is smashed all the way into the sterring wheel! I'd like to see what kind of rear end that is.. Who knows it might be worth the salvage? here is a pic of one in just a little better shape!
