Ya, me too currently. Everyone I talk to likes theirs (Liberty) and they got better looking too for 08 IMO. Another car my old lady fell in love with was the Nitro, smaller but enough for her. She loves the Edge, too much $$ and is going for an Escape herself, but has lots of good to say of DCX products from a chick stand point. We tested alot of stuff at the Auto show this year to sit in and go over. Thumbs up for Liberty here

You're giving it a "thumbsup" based on sitting inside a vehicle at a show and looking around it, correct?

Way to go.

Yes, thumbs up for as far as that can take you. This should narrow down what you go to actually test drive, no? You'd have to go over it fully obviously so sorry, my bad I also added that people I know have them and give it a good repore.

I'd buy a Liberty hands down only because it's on a ladder frame, solid rear axle, and rear wheel drive offered with a REAL transfer case with hi and low 4x4 options.

It's a real SUV.

Not a fake FWD based 4x4, with a magneto-coupled rear transfer case for the rear axle. Like an Escape, Tribute, Mariner, Arcadia, CRV, etc... Making it a fake SUV. Unless you like fake or a car-like SUV. Wait... I forgot... people want everything car-like... including trucks.

Don't mean to sound derogatory... but it's towards the auto manufacturers.

I agree, had one for a couple days and it was a decent ride. The one I had used the 3.7 motor and while it didnt idle as smooth as it should have it had good power and provided decent MPG

I test drove one too... but with the 6 speed with 4x4. Excellent vehicle. Kinda ticked off that my parents didn't go with it. Plus it was a bit bigger. But they didn't like that it wasn't the Limited with the extras. Like who cares... I would've taken ruggedness versus the luxuries.

Personally... I don't like the Compass... but so far it's been reliable. But it's small, underpowered, no 4x4, front wheel drive, and the gear shifter is a little finicky when shifting, especially when shifting into reverse.

The slushbox is snail slow. It's pretty sad that my v6 F150 could beat it hands down.

We bought a Toyota Highlander in December of 2006 and it has been great. Very reliable, comfortable, plenty of power, and very solid.

I've had an FJ Cruiser for the past 5 months - fun vehicle.. no problems whatsoever.... everyone I've talked to that knows an FJ Crusier owner says they say the same thing....

great forum over at http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/ Check out some of the rides there.... unbelieveable what some of those folks put them through....

Look at it this way.... your wife uses it for a few years and then it's YOURS to have fun with!!

I got mine for 27.5K pretty loaded - you can certainly wheel & deal on them now that the novelty has worn off....

Brilliant cars!

We still have one - 2005 V6 Limited - in the family with a tad under 190K and still drives very nicely.

The only thing we've had altered from the day we picked it up are tires, brake pads and wiper blades, and the only service, apart from the standard oil, oil filter, etc, was a fuel injection service/flush at 140K.

It's been worth every cent we originally spent.

Yeah, these Acadia's are Sweet! I had a rental for a few days and Almost have my wife talked into one. Either this or an Edge.

Seriously, you should have her test ride a cross over. They Ride Sooo nice and basically have the same off road capability as an Escape or Liberty would have...

Now don't get me wrong... it's not like I got something against fwd based 4x4s... but if you want a car-like ride, it's up to you.

I prefer the bias of rwd and the solid rear axle.

I like the FJ's, but I have been wanting to asks someone who has one if there is a huge blind spot on the passenger side with those oversized pillars. Other than that, those things look sweet!
