The Z06 Edges out the GT3, has come back with track tuned shock-damping rates, and hasn't been tested on the track again. Not to mention the Z06 is running around with a full stereo, AC, Navigation system, etc etc.

The Z06 isnt even the top contender in the Corvette family. If we are compring to 911's and Ferrari's and everything else, might as well throw the ZR-1 in there.
If I'm not mistaken, that 7:42 time was not the regular ZO6 but the "blue devil" aka ZR1.

Edit: Nevermind, the "blue devil" ZR1 did a time of 7:40 and the reg ZO6 did the 'ring in 7:43.

So as it stands the GT-R is still faster than the ZR1 and ZO6 around the 'ring, by 2 and 5 seconds respectively.

with 620hp/600tq and only RWD only I'm sure the ZR1 will be a handful to handle around a track. I'm still willing to bet a GT-R will hold its own against the ZR1 on or off the track since its being described so far as such an amazing track vehicle that works just as well on the street. It already beat out every Porsche 911 turbo and GT3 track cars that it was put against in tests. I'm not so sure how well a 600tq RWD ZR1 well behave on the street or track on street tires.

a VSPEC version of the GT-R is also planned for released, lighter and more hp. We are in the age of great performance cars, can't wait to see whats in store.

I don't care if the Chevette was free. You would not catch me dead in a 'vette. Here's why...

Well I haven't seen any confirmed times for the ZR-1 yet. Can you please post a link?
The Z06 ran that 7:42.99 with aweful tires, a standing start, the initial suspension setup, and 115 less horsepower. You cant think the the ZR1 wont run it faster then just 2-3 seconds...........

I say, lets wait until the rest of the world gets their hands on them at the track to see what they can do, not their factory drivers with their test mules.
Productions cars in a shootout.

Watch for
ZR1
Viper ACR
GTR

It will probably be in that order as well.

The new GT-R is going to be one fast car. Expect tuners to get 800hp to 1000hp out of them.

If they are anything like the previous generation they should hold this power without any problems whatsoever... built like crazy and solid as all hell

$70,000.00 for a car that runs with a 911 Turbo? What's not to like? Love the 'Vette, too.

I didnt know you were trying and neither did you.
I don't own a corvette, yet.

I usually expect someone of a much younger age to make such a silly connection between what someone looks/dresses like and the vehicle they drive.

I find it pretty stupid to mock an Classic American like the Corvette.
