New uniform

Finally got my ABU's pieced together after collecting parts one at a time with each paycheck. So far like 'em a lot. Seems more comfortable than BDU's and the lack of ironin' will help me out too.

Only thing I'm concerned about is how well the boots will hold up on the flightline if some crewchief or hydro guy spills a mess near me. I think i'll start searchin' ebay for some steeltoe desert boots for cheap as right now the ABU boots are way too expensive.

They're a lot more user friendly at home, but 2 major things:

1. Just wait a few washes... the pants and shirt will be two different colors

2. They SUCKED in the desert. way too hot, felt like wearing a denim jacket.

I just wore my DCU's the whole time in Iraq.

Oh, and dude, lose the yellow rope on the wall... you plan on taking a girl in there?

They should stay pretty close as long as you wash them as a set. They do look nice though.

They're made differently (tops and bottoms) either fabric, or ink. They will fade differently regardless.

Got mine last week.....definitely liked the DCU's in Iraq, but I guess the powers that be are designing lighter weight ABU's we'll see..........I do love wearing my Converse desert boots with the ABU's though....no more polishing.....

they look nice. but they do get hot over here in iraq. and it's only march. they do look better with the tan boots. the green ones will discolor and become tan after a while. just wish they would have let us put patches on the pockets like the BDUs. over all they are pretty good.

They going to send you somewhere more interesting than Dover, Delaware?

One bit of advice -- if they start mentioning something about Grand Forks, North Dakota, run like he11!

Thanky thanky. Actually dover is purdy dang cool. Lotta fun and I love workin the gac on the C17.

I kept the rope as I worked not only very hard to get it, but not be the typical power hungry attention ***** that typically give ropes a bad name. Thought I did a good job and earned respect, not demanded it.

Saw a friend today who is headed for his first tour in Iraq. Should be a lot of fun in the summer over there.
