Greetings! (new member)

So after some lurking and searching i figure id post up

im far from a automobile n00b, but this is my first vehicle i did not build my self from a salvage.

i bought a 2003 F-150 supercab with the 4.2 V6 and a 5 speed. this is my new daily driver while I tear down my mazda 323 (again..) toy for some much needed love. unfortunately the modding bug runs strong in me and i have already started shopping for parts to add to it. i have also come to find my "heritage model" also means "bastard child" as i am find parts alittle scarce.

but enough about the trilogy, glad to be a member as there is alot of good info

Maybe a dumb question, but why are Heritage parts so hard to find. I thought that they were just an 00, 01, or 02, and got a fancy name. Am I way off base in my knowledge, or lack of?
