Jeff Healey-RIP

Just read this online from the local news. For those that may not recognize the name he was a blind blues guitarist from Canada. He lost his sight at the age of 1 because of a rare form of cancer. After fighting various forms of cancer his whole life it finally took him at 41.

I enjoyed his music, this is a sad day for Canada.

I got a couple of his songs on my MP3 now. "Blue Jean Blues" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

Man I really hate to hear that. He could jam out! I remember when he was in that movie Roadhouse. Seems like tons of good people are dying these days.

I liked most of his music and that is a good one, LT. Sad to lose a talent like that. He had a pretty rough life.

Talk about crazy talent... Compare his playing to one of the greats... Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Healey together on stage live.

I saw him several years ago in a nightclub, here. It was one of the best shows I'd seen in a long time. When he got going, it was like he was cosmic. Being a guitar player myself, I was always amazed by his playing. After his opening number, he moves to the mic witha big grin on his face and says "I feel great. I just got laid before I came here."

he will be missed...

regards

I should have said it was a sad day for music. Jeff Healey was just as well known in the U.S as he was in Canada.

BTW, those Youtube vids, awesome stuff! Those links are now saved in favorites.
