As for the Edge, they seem ok, just seem a little more mini-vanish and lack some of the sporty features of some of the other crossovers, but we'll have to see.

Haha some one was on crack when they gave the quote of $3700

He probably only does have PLPD coverage, but it would be my insurance paying it so it wouldn't matter what coverage he has. My wife is (well was before the kids) an insurance broker, so she will take care of that end of it and find out what increase we would be looking at if we went that route.
A friend of mine had a accident he wasn't sure he wanted to go through insurance, so he called his broker. Just by calling them and telling them about it, they jacked his insurance even though he never went through with the claim.
As for the Edge, I probably have as much say in what we buy as she did when I bought my truck, in other words very little.

My family just got a 09 Nissan Murano. We looked into all the cars and the nissan is what we chose. It is what my mom drives, but I will admit, it is fun. It has amazing power, really nice, and the CVT just is awsome. It never shifts, just keeps chugging. It averages 21mpg. Ours is loaded;nav, back-up camera, ect. But the only downside is that there is on seating for 5. There is not a option for a back seat.
