ATT Internet...
We actually switched to ATT for our 60 meg pipe over at where I work... it's got 3/4 uptime compared to Verizon.
Smart move on the people that think by getting a bigger pipe for less is really THAT good? Think again! Our puny 20 meg pipe had 99.999% uptime.
We are on the verge of voiding their contract because they swore up and down they'd give us at leat 95% uptime... and it's been like 80% uptime. It SUCKS!
We've been giving them chances upon chances to fix it... and they still suck.
So there... I dunno how their consumer end is... but the business/educational end sure does stink.

We have it for our network. It has been flawless so far. We've had it about three years. I've had a hiccup or two but AT&T was quick to fix it. We don't have the usual DSL. The one we have is an upgrade from the likes of Yahoo, etc that offer AT&T DSL. I wouldn't consider anything else around here as cable absolutely sucks. FWIW, I had a tech come by a couple of weeks ago and he told me that all of AT&T lines to the branch circuits are being converted to optical transmission and speeds will be going up by a bunch. This is supposed to be a nationwide transition.
It can't be any worse than the Hughes Net Satellite internet I have. There is a limit on how much content can be downloaded in a 24 hour period; 425 MBs. If you hit that amt it shuts down. Some times it is so slow it takes a few minutes for a 30 sec Youtube vid to load. We upgraded to the top of the line "Pro Plan" for 90 dollars a month!!!! It costs 500 dollars up front for the equipment. IT SUCKS!!!! It is the only thing other than dial up since Im in the sticks. I may try a wireless card when my plan is up.

If you are in the sticks, a wireless card will only give you dialup speeds unless you have a cell provider that just *happens* to support 3G there. If you are within a few miles of a major Interstate highway, that is a possibility. Might as well just use a cheap dialup account.
I've got the mid-range ATT DSL. It's everything I could want, plenty fast, never a single problem. And $14.99 a month..
ALL ISP's hate our guts tho, you should understand that. That said, I've had no problems with ATT, as opposed to a couple of other providers I've used.
I'd recommend ATT to anyone.

Cutting Speeds
I called AT&T a while back because my internet connection was not as fast as I’d contracted for. It turns out that even though I contracted for the highest speed they advertised, someone at AT&T had bumped me down to a lower, cheaper speed! If you have AT&T, check your bill!!!
Has AT&T done this to you?
