The G8? LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! I just saw it @ the auto show in Detroit, and had seen it a few weeks prior driving. Man, nice car. OK, Ford might have a few decent cars but GM has good cars. I hope it does well. Only flaw? Made in Mexico, which sucks the big one, could be worse though.

361 RWD HP! Handles like it's German counterparts! Only down side is the trans isn't 100% up to snuff w/the engine. GM finally did something right! If I weren't so hell bent on getting my F150, this would be the next vehicle in my garage!

I gotta admit... that thing is hot. I'm really excited to see an American manufacturer bringing a car like that to market. It can only raise the bar for EVERYONE and, ultimately, help Detroit get back on the map...

Hecho en Mexico is a total bummer though...

I dunno. The automotive media ranted about how great the GTO, another Holden sourced Poncho, was gonna be. GM's pretty good at screwing up a good thing.

Time will tell. Looks pretty good though at first glance.

I don't know about that GTO, nice but not very GTO ish. Like a Grand Am with a v-8. The original GTO was different and sometimes a name can't do everything. You know it wasn't even available in Canada? That G8 GT is nice, but dammit Pontiac, there is too many "G" 's on the backs of your cars.

GM "played" too much with the Holden before putting the GTO badge on it. I've driven a true Holden (left hand steering and all) and let me tell ya, the thing is a beast in it's true untamed form.
I think GM learned from that mistake, which is why the G8 is pretty damn close to the Holden designed vehicle.

Time will tell though.

The GTO was a pretty good car. It just completely failed in the looks department. It looked like it belonged on a rental car lot. Also te fact that you couldn't fit very wide tires/wheels on the rear did not help.

The G8 looks pretty cool. When it's time for a new car for the wife we'll have to take a look at it.

Cool but they should have built it ten years ago.

Back when nobody wanted a car?

The GTO was ok, looked like a tweaked Grand Am, which is a ok look for a beater but not really too breakthrough for a performance machine. Plus it was close to the price of a Vette that had both better looks (IMO) and better performance. But then they might have inhibited its potential performance as well so it wouldn't compete directly with the GM flagship performance car.

The G8 has a nice front end, probably one of the best out there. But the rims sticking out past the tire and the goofy fender flare totally kill the rear end of the car, at least in the angle posted. The rear really looks kinda like a wannbe beemer, and I can't say I care too much for their looks either.

If I was looking for a four door car with some snort, going on looks it would be the Charger by far. But then for a family hauler there are alot better options out there imo, because I would cry as I fought to get cool-aid stains out of the back carpet of nice high end car like that.

I guess there were not many Beemers getting sold ten years ago.
