Interesting thread...

Well, I always thought I'd be the last guy to buy a Jap truck, but I guess I was wrong. Got myself a used Titan crew cab, picked it up for $17625 from the dealer where I work with 24k on the clock. We needed a larger vehicle since my wife had the baby 12 days ago and the vehicle we had wasnt cutting it with 2 carseats in the back.

I looked for a Ford first, a Chevy second, and then a Titan. I could not find a decent used Ford in this area in my price range! And every single used Chevy was $5k+ more than I wanted to spend. Anyway, the truck has some kind of exhaust on it already so it doesn't sound half bad, plus if I baby it it'll get 15MPG, at least it did all day yesterday.

I will be back in a Ford by 2010 or so once those 1/2 ton diesels come out, I just had to do something for my growing family. I hope you all don't hate me now.

Oh yeah, yesterday was the second day I had the truck and some jackass already hit me. That's ok though, there's really only a couple hundred in damage so no biggie. It was a guy in a Lowe's delivery truck, and I let him have it..

Thanks for being supportive. I'd never buy a Tundra, ever. EVER.

But yeah, I had to get a larger vehicle for the family and this one fit the bill.

So lets hear all of the stats on the truck !!

If I was going to buy a foreign truck, it'd be a Titan.

It's a 2006 XE Crew Cab with the Preferred Package (PW, PL, Cruise, 6-disc CD Changer, power sliding rear window), factory spray in bedliner, and some ugly *** steel wheels. I am looking into a set of the alloys though, since I work for Nissan dealer and can get them cheap.

I am not sure what exhaust it has on it, but it has duals (one out each side). It's tan in color, with a grey interior. Nothing much more to it. It's a truck, I basically stole it from the dealer and it'll work for the time being. I don't know if its just me or not, but the cab does seem larger than the crew cab F-150, of which I've owned 2. Could just be me though.

The 2 carseats fit with no problems and lots of extra room though, so I am happy about that.

Wow, everyone is far more supportive than I thought they'd be. Perhaps I should have posted this 2 days ago when I actually GOT the truck. I was apprehensive to do so because I thought for sure I would get a ration of **** from ya'll.

Titans seem to have big bulls-eyes on them. Grandpa has one and that thing is always getting hit. Of course, him goosing it in reverse into a trash can didn't help...

Who knows? All I know is the guy hit me but the cop found me at fault because I was "driving in the bike lane" which is not the case. It's a big fiasco, not only do I have to pay to get my truck fixed, I have to go down to the courthouse and show them my proof of insurance so they can expunge the ticket from my record. See, I had just bought the truck, and didnt have a new insurance card yet. Damnit!

Hope it's a good rig for ya!

The 5.6L sound sweet even with the factory exhaust. Once you get the new rims on post some pics.

Only because you are flying under the radar with a thread title 'interesting thread...'.

The forums are constantly being patrolled for any possible boogey.

Had you chose a more descriptive thread title, the normal progression would have been...

I agree with this, I would buy the Nissan long before I was forced to drive anything from Toyota or God forbid the Ridgeline
