Xbox Live Help...

I am trying to set up Xbox Live in my room, and had a few questions.

The cable modem and router for my internet are in another room. The PC that I use in my room is connect to the internet through the router.

Is it possible to connect the Xbox through the PC that is in my room, or do I have to run a cable from the Xbox to the modem and router in another room?

You can either run a cable from the router to the xbox 360 or you can buy a wireless adapter that plugs into the back of the xbox 360 and will pick up a wireless signal from your router, then there is no cables!

I know I can do those two, but I would like to minimize the cost. Is there anyway I can utilize the PC in my room that is connected wirelessly to the internet?

You could try adding a second network card to your computer and using Internet Connection Sharing. Not sure if it will work but it's a thought.

No.. There are 2 options

Wired

Wireless

If you want to minimize cost, run a wire and it gets in the way

If you want a clean look, buy a wireless adapter... Look on ebay or craiglist

Those are the only 2 options you have to connect to Xbox live..

Or you could move your xbox and play on a 12" tv next to your router

2 more options and I have used both of these in my kids room.

First is to unplug the computer and plug into the the xbox when needed... cheap and easy.....also cuts down on xbox lag from too much crap running

Install a switch before the computer. Currently running this setup in his room now with 1 xbox, 1 desktop and a laptop.

Netgear Wall-plugged Ethernet extender kit Model XE102G

99 dollars at most electronic stores, 50 bucks or less on eBay. Works like a charm. We used wireless for awhile, but had signal strength problems.

example look here:
