Im tore up guys ...

Last night a friend of mine killed himself as well as his girlfriend. I don't even know what to say. I had just talked to him a day or two before, he seemed fine. I'm at a loss for words to say the least ...

My cousin did a similar thing in Michigan. He killed his wife and was in the house for 4 days with her before he came out. He called my aunt and told her. She called the cops. The SWAT team surrounded his place. He came out and shot himself in the head.

Some people do crazy things for no apparent reason. There had to be a reason, though. It just probably would not make sense if you knew it.

I can't get over it ... he's got a little brother too and I can't help but cry thinking about how rough it's going to be for him and his family.

Im very sorry about your loss of a friend. Sincerely

You go thru a virage of emotions in from anger, guilt, to sadness.
Suicide is a selfish act, hard truth. I have been through this a few times, and that is the sustaining feeling that still lasts, anger at the selfishness, sadness for the family and my own loss of a colleague.
Most news services have policies not to announce suicides, there are so many that are never known about. The ones that everyone hears about are the ones that involve standoffs and murders.

Sorry about your friend...

This sort of thing is on the rise these days. I had a son whose mother tried to commit suicide...killed the kids, she lived. Got 30 years, did 15.
I try to forgive her in some sort of unselfish way but I will never understand.
She tried to tell me a few times before she did it and I would tell her to leave the kids and go hurt herself alone if she had to.
I always try and figure what I could have done different....but there was nothing...but I still feel blame.
Some types of pain never go away.
Sometimes when it's domestic and/or people have mental issues and play with the others emotions, it never makes sense to outsiders.
Some people hurt things, some hurt others and themselves as some sort of payback?

Sorry for your loss Thumper.

“All men seek happiness, This is without exception. Whatever different means they employ, they all tend to this end. The cause of some going to war, and of others avoiding it, is the same desire in both, attended with different views. The will never takes the least step but to this object. This is the motive of every action of every man, even of those who hang themselves.” - Blaise Pascal
