People & Inclimate Weather
This ought to be an interesting thread...
Between yesterday and today, I've stopped and asked 7 drivers who were involved in accidents because they were going too fast or didn't know how to drive.
None of those 7 were really serious, but I find it kind of interesting how derogatory 6 out of the 7 were.
How many of you guys ever took the extra few to ask if everyone was ok at an accident and if they needed assistance? How many gave you a deragatory remark(s)?

It was the google.
My story. My drive to work is around 25 miles. The weather was bad, Texas thunderstorms. I was heading home one afternoon from work and I had to drive through about 15-20 miles of pea to marble sized hail on the way home. I didn't stop, just kept on driving. The sound of all that hail hitting that little ford ranger I'll never forget.
What baffles me how some people pull over under bridges on the highway during said inclement weather. All it does is cause more accidents.

Well, you've got about six things going in this thread.
Yes, I will ask if everyone is ok, only if they aren't already being attended to or if it's not obvious. One particular example, a guy rear ended me. He immediately jumps out of his car and runs up to appologize. I shoved him out of the way and calmly walked back to his car to ask his family if everyone was ok or needed medical attention. Another time I helped attend to an old woman who flipped her car three feet in front of my stationary motorcycle at an intersection. Best thing I did was keep some idiot from pushing her car back onto its wheels with her in it.
As far as pulling over under overpasses...well I've never seen that cause an accident. I have driven through my fair share of Texas thunder/hail storms and they can be bad. I've also seen the after effects of what they can do to a car. If I really cared about my vehicle I'd be finding some place to pull off for sure. I remember seeking out a parking garage for myself and my wife in her car during one particular nasty one.
I have to say though, the most idiotic thing I ever saw Texas drivers do was during the ice storms. Car going over a bridge with ice on it, gets a little out of sorts and what do you see? Brake lights. Idiots.
*edit* and yes, in Texas during a nasty storm, it's very easy to see 6-7 accidents on your way home. You have to travel to get anywhere in those cities and the people drive mean and crazy. To top it off, it's hot and dry nearly all of the time, so when you get bad weather, people have no idea how to drive in it.

We get all sorts of crappy weather and people cant drive. Doesnt matter if it is dry, snowing, freezing rain, raining etc, there is always some dumba$$ that doesnt stop, signal, speeding or something to cause a accident. My fiance was on her way into school this morning and in 7 miles of interstate counted 7 cars and 1 semi in the median because the road was a little slick. People cannot drive!
I work at a 'large appliance manufactuer' as a consultant (about 1,000 acres large)... obviously, with a plant that size, there are large parking areas.
It is my understanding that there were about 10 (ten) lost time incidents this morning alone involving slipping on the ice while walking from their vehicles in to the facility. One is likely an reportable incident.
Needless to say, there are some very serious discussions going on about why the lot was in the shape that it was in...

Just before I dployed about a year ago, there was a nasty storm in MD. This one off-ramp seemed to be particularly nasty. I was at the bottom and saw about 10 cars in the ditch at various angles. I pulled about 3 or 4 out and all were nice about it. I guess it's different when you're getting free help, rather than just embarrassed.

I watched a pretty bad wreck this summer in which 2 cars were involved. I stopped and asked one lady if she was ok. The white trash trailer park queen procedes to go on and on about how she just got her car back from the shop ect. ect. While the thing was still running with fluids leaking everywhere. I simply reached in and turn it off and told her the cops would be there shortly. She never answered if she was ok until I asked her about 3 times. Some other driver had stopped for the other car on down the way. It was a young HS girl who was upset but ok. Anyway thats my story.
