No Heat.....

Came home today and the house smelled like there had been an electrical fire. Turns out the blower motor is seized on the furnace and it was trying to run for who knows how long. It's 27 outside and 63 in here right now. How low will it go!!!!!

burr... break out like every blanket you have! or make a quick run to wal-mart and buy some small space heaters then put all of them in one room and shut the door.

i've had situations like this before. either the furnace failed or more commonly, the power has gone out. it stinks......

in my current home i made sure to install a standing pilot gas-fireplace. it needs no electricity to run, it has a thermo-pile which generates a small voltage and current to run the valve... so as long as the standing pilot is on... it works. plus i also have a kerosene heater (which i normally use in the garage) and 6 gallons of kerosene on hand at all times.

my next step is to get a pellet stove with a battery backup.

furnace !?
furnace !?
how needs a stinkin furnace !?

sorry to hear of your troubles - oaw
