Ticketmaster Ripoff

Does anyone know of anyway to get around using Ticketmaster for purchasing event tickets in the future. I've used Ticketmaster for every purchase so far, but now I think the service fees are outrageous.

I just purchased two tickets for Monster Jam at the Allstate Arena.

Adult Tickets US $20.00 x 2
Total Convenience Charge(s) US $5.35 x 2
Order Processing Charge US $4.80
TicketFast® US $2.50
TOTAL CHARGES US $58.00

So for tickets that cost $40, I had to pay almost $60.

You could tru Stubhub but you're probably going to pay more for the tickets. I've never used it before but i've wanted to but I just didn't feel comfortable buying off of the site since your buying from other people. I would like to know if anyone has ever used stubhub.

Ebay always has tickets. The price is jacked up a lot of the time, but you can get some steals on tickets. Ticketmaster is a total ripoff!!

Ticketmaster fees suck!

For some arenas and events, you can buy advance tickets at the box office and not pay a ticketmaster charge.

Unfortunately this option is not always available and unless you live near to the arena it is a major hassle.

Even worse, some of the fees are based on ticket price rather than being a set fee. We hit a few concerts during the year, and get nailed when the ticket price is higher.

Our local amphitheater also charges a set fee for parking, regardless of how you get to the place. Whether you take a big car full so some can drink, or each drive, or take a limo, everyone pays XX dollars for parking.

Even the people that walk.

You're lucky. My seats are the cheaper seats. We are in section 212 which is upper level, but I suppose it isn't to bad. I've been to this venue for several concerts and have sat in the upper level. Watching a few people on a stage wasn't to bad, so I guess watching trucks driving around won't be a strain on the eyes.

The level shouldn't effect the price unless you're getting a box or something. I sat in the middle level, too.

stubhub

The professor, when you buy from stub hub your not buying it from the person per say...you have a pickup location and the tickets were dropped off from the owner there. It is safe to use stubhub..
