The 6,100 pound towing rating would be one reason I would buy it, the fact that its a GM product would be another.
Kudos to GM though, at least they are trying to compete with Toyota.

It's nice in concept, like the article says though, will truck buyers want it? The hybrid version can tow 6100 lbs, but if it costs more then the gas model which can pull 10,500 lbs, it'll be a hard sell.

From what I've seen in the car mags, it's not worth the money for what most people use them for. I guess they get pretty good mileage in town, but are too big for a lot of areas. Parking is an issue in a lot of areas now.

They say 25% better fuel economy? What is 25% of crappy? A little less crappy?

I guess that anything that auto makers can do to reduce consumption is good. I tend to believe that the rush to get these things to market is going to cost us all in the long run.

I the case of the Tahoe Hybrid, its gets the same city milage as a 4-cylinder Toyota Camry.
For people who say they cant buy an SUV because of the gas milage, it will make them reconsider an SUV.
Anyone who actually uses their truck as a truck would never buy a hybrid, but I dont doubt that a hybrid truck would appeal to yuppie soccer moms.
Im going to put off buying a hybrid for as long as possible.

After reading that article, I see Toyota has a hybrid in the works as well.

The A BAT

The Denali XT comes on the heels of another compact hybrid truck concept, the Toyota A-BAT, which was introduced at last month's North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The A-BAT is also built on a unibody frame and has a 4-foot bed, 7 inches shorter than the Denali XT's 55-inch bed.

I really don't understand why they are putting such short beds on these new trucks. I honestly like the idea of a hybrid truck 'cuz for folks like me who do use there trucks tho carry large stuff from time to time, but rarely, it makes sence. but these short beds really limit the possibilities
