Imagine if your truck was just a reck that never actually saw any road use? You may have been storing it and temporarily moved it out in front of your house.
In Ontario, to be charged for such an offense, you must be found driving on the road/highway. Makes better sense to me. You should check into that. You may have been improperly charged.

Probably not. If it's parked on the street, then there are laws for that too. Usually local city ordinances to keep people from keeping wrecked or broken down cars on the street. It really trashes a neighborhood when the street has a bunch of broken down cars parked on it.

I can understand that if the charge was in regards to a parking infraction, but a charge for failing to display two plates?.

So it was a ticket for parking, and not a ticket for the missing the front plate?

Many locations require the use of two plates. Failure to display both plates can result in a ticket.

I know that just by parking it on the street the cops can pretty much write you up for whatever. I live on a private pipe stem so I guess I am lucky

Wow, you guys have some weird laws if that's the case.
I'd hate to get a speeding ticket while my truck was parked

Seriously though, I just can't see the justice in getting a ticket for not displaying two plates while the vehicle wasn't even being used on the road.

styx did say it was in regards to parking though, so I'll reserve judgement until he verifies if the ticket was for parking, or plates.

It's very lame. I don't understand how you can be charged for a plate when the ticket should have read something along the lines of being improperly parked

It wouldn't hold water here, but hey, this isn't Ohio I guess.

I'll be damned if I put a plate on the front of my truck or my viper.

Last time I got pulled over, going WAY too fast through an intersection, I got a ticket for my windows. Front was 4% and rear was 5% . I was polite and respectful, so I got a cheaper ticket than the one I could have gotten cause I was going too fast and didn't realize it till it was too late. Kinda sounds like you got a little bit of a break....... especially if he was giving you more of a hard time about your speed.

If you don't want to get a ticket for no front plate, move to a state where they aren't required. Laws are laws.

Yep I will just pay the fine. All I have got though is warnings up to this point.
