for those who remember; i could not, for the life of me figure out how to get the tv movies and shows to come in thru/as surround sound. i even went as far as taking 3 cable hookup (red, white and yellow) and went from the back of the digital converter box to the reciever....nothing to write home about...
just for giggles i started messing around with all the functions on the menu botton for the digital box.....low and behold there is a spot for mono, stereo, and surround sound! highlighted surround sound and BOOM, all speakers loud and clear! I can't tell you how many times the tv was turned around to check all the possible connections with the reciever. so after months now finally the sound is as good as with the dvd movies!

i knew enough to double check all the settings on the tv but never considered the digial box....? live and learn!
