Sodium chloride is less harsh on the skin, eyes, hair, and bathing suits. You know the burning in your eyes when you open them under water in a traditionally chlorinated pool? How about the hair that changes colors? Irritated skin? All that is GONE with the salt water chlorinator, AND the sodium chloride has less calcium content than regular chlorine, so there's less buildup of white scaly material on the tile.

That's pretty cool, I didn't really add all of that up.

The only thing that boggles my mind is WHY build a pool like that and fill it with saltwater when the largest saltwater pool in the world is just a few yards behind it? Were they having trouble with rip currents or people getting eaten by sharks? Just make sense to me.

If they can design a pool using electrolysis to break apart NaCl, then why hasn't system been marketed the breaks down water into H and O2 and, and my truck run on hydrogen!!!

maybe because NaCl disassociates in water and Na+ and Cl- are free 'floating' in water, so the electrolysis would be provided naturally...
