You know what gets on my nerves when everybody keeps telling me I'm a poser lifting a 2wd truck. I couldn't afford 4wd at the time but I love big trucks and ridin high. Even my dad called me a poser!

To the OP:
I'm not asking this to be a ****, and there are plenty of people on here who will tell you I'm a **** without my asking, but:
Why would you lift a 2WD if you're not trying to be a poser? Is there a legitimate reason? If you can give me a good reason, I promise I won't think of you as a poser.

I have a 2wd. I think of it like this. My 0-60 is faster than the 4wd, you can tow more (look at your manual). My oil changes are cheaper, mostly. I have less to go wrong. Better fuel economy. Something to think about.
Dont have 4wd? Get a winch, and a buddy with 4wd

It does'nt matter what other people think. Your truck, your life, live it like you want and remember; opinions are like @$$holes: everyone has one, and mostly all of them stink.
Personally, i like lifted 2wd trucks.
they look cool as heck if you get a good match of wheel/tire combo.
I've seen 2wd trucks do some 'wheelin with some good drivin. Also you may want to think of re-gearing and installing a locker in the rear. You would be amazed at what 2 rear wheels spinnin at the same time with some good mud tires can get you through.
Poser?
Ha! Let them have their stinkin opinions and when someone comments on your truck, how good it looks for a 2wd, just chuckle inside at all those haters!

I think I'm a bit confused here... how exactly does lifting a 2WD truck make you a poser? What exactly are you "posing" as? A 2wd truck with a 6 inch lift and 35s sure doesn't look like any stock 4x4 I've seen.
A lifted 2wd rarely, if ever, looks anything like a normal 4x4 truck would.
Even then, I would be more inclined to call 4x4 trucks that are lifted 6, 8, 10, 12+ inches posers as *most* of them don't even off-road! THAT is a poser!
Lifting a 2wd is can be purely for cosmetic reasons, and unless you put 4x4 decals or other decals claiming to be anything other than a fun, big, 2wd truck I hardly see any "posing" taking place. Not to mention the fact that a 2wd truck with a LS or locker will be PLENTY capable for the vast majority of off-roading out there.
Just like slamming a 2wd does not guarantee that you are a drug dealer or track racer. It's just a different way to make the truck unique.
