That would be a viable option... it will help two people out.

I wouldnt pay $31k for any GM vehicle, unless it was a 2500HD with Duramax/Allison combo.

$31k for a Pontiac G8 is ridiculous. Hell, for that kinds of money you can buy a used C7 Corvette and laugh at G8 owners at stoplights. It's a ***** magnet too, which is exactly what college kids want these days, isn't it?

Very true.

I get a laugh at these kids that drive Scions and Hondas... not to mention VWs and other junk. Not to mention the real idiots who buy convertables and drive them around all year.

I had this one kid way back when... I think was like 17 or 18, and a kid told me that his suspension system on his Honda Civic was rated up to 20 tons.

Yah, right buddy.

As for the car, It looks nice but for the price, I'd rather go out and get 2 Mustangs or get a fully loaded 'Stang and mod it day 1+

Personally, I'd save the money for college
because gas mileage wasnt a problem till now.
got the truck before my mom was a single mom. and before i was going to college in the city.

please benefit from my stupidity...

I did almost exactly what you're about to do (bought a fuel efficient vehicle to save money, the planet and all that jazz) and have come to a single conclusion that you won't like, but I hope it makes a difference...

BUYING A NEW VEHICLE TO SAVE GAS IS WELL-INTENTIONED STUPIDITY UNLESS YOU AND YOUR MOM HAVE MONEY TO BURN!

Whew, now I feel better! It will take you the life of that Pontiac to just break even from the depreciation hit. Add the rest of the insurance, etc. for driving a "sports car" and you're going to do some damage to your finances for a looong time. If you need to save on gas, take some of the toys off your truck, get it re-tuned to be as efficient as you can and drive it till the wheels fall off.

A year or so ago, I bought a smaller "rice burner" that I thought would work. It's tough fitting an F150 guy into a rice burner though in more ways than one so please, please don't do it.

Not only that... but I found if I would've kept my '99 I would have saved a LOT of money... instead of buying new rides... I'm stickin' to my '07 for a LONG time... lesson learned.

I hear ya... cars and small SUVs just don't cut it for a guy who is used to bigness.

I still somewhat wish I would have bought the F150 Supercab with the 8' bed... totalling an impressive 163" wheelbase! The longer the better.

One one hand you want us to agree with you that its better b/c you will save all this money in fuel and you will be able to park easier, etc.

In reality you are wanting a new vehicle that kicks @$$ and takes names, is pry going to get you some tail (if needed), and will be a little easier to park. A used beater is out of the question - c'mon... who wants to be driving a pos around campus?!?

"Hey ladies! Wanna go for a ride in my '91 Metro! Air doesn't work, but you don't have to worry 'cause the windows don't roll up anymore - I also routed dryer ducting from the roof into the cab so we have ram airconditioning! Woooot!"

Ok... In all seriousness get the Pontiac. Having owned or family owned a Grand Am, Grand Prix GTP and a Sunfire they are all pretty nice and reliable vehicles. The G8 looks sooooo sexxxy I would def. not mind owning it. I'm sure you'll deck it all out like you did your truck and it'll be even more ****. Just go buy it and post some pics man!

yea cant do the mustang...me and thump have had alot of similar things in the past...and consulted on alot of similar ideas and parts.

cant happen.

but some of yall aint seeing it.

not only am i getting a fuel efficiant car. but it is allowing me to take my vehicle to college. i can trade in my truck for the pontiac g8 (already talked to the guys at dealership if theyd take my truck for direct trade). but i also have 362 HP at my feet, sitll have a 4 door sedan, aggressive looking car.

so i wont have a car to save the planet and all that. its so i have a vehuicle in college, can go home to help my mom and see my gf, still have everything i need (wont need my truck capabilities anymore in ATL) and have speed.
which ill also be turboing the G8

Turboing the G8 eh?

I don't mean to ask... but I can't help myself... but... man I can't!!!

Ok, ok...

More importantly...

Where are you getting all this cash from?!

Because... if you have all this cash... just keep the truck and turn it into a street rod... then when you get done, turn it back into the 4x4 beast.

did you miss the part where he said "direct trade"?

with doing a direct trade he has the money he would have had to pay for the new car, because hes got some wealthy resources, mr jaguar patshea
