Taking shaky-cam to an entirely new level, by a magnitude of 10,000. So irritating as to be beyond distracting. It was 20 minutes of tedium via shaky-cam followed by 60 mins of content-less pandemonium via even shakier shaky-cam, followed by credits.
Seriously bad.
Such a shame.
(And no, the monster does not resemble the diagram that Hersh posted).

I found myself looking away several times due to this...
Plus there were also several times where the main characters are basically just standing there doing nothing while time is a wastin'.
After chatting with a friend, we figured that perhaps there is room for a better prequel or sequel, which could potentially be non-shaky-cam. I'll admit that I think the concept of the movie was a bit interesting, but the execution definitely seemed a bit iffy.
Worth the matinee? perhaps. Full price? No way.
My $.02.
first off ... i kinda got motion sick from watching this movie... second.. i want to know the kinda of camera that guy had... 9 hours on a single tape and battery taking all that crap, i want one! and third.... a little part of me died today watching that movie, yes, it is THAT bad. Agree with the two thumbs down... on a side note... anyone see previews for hte new Night Rider?

has the picture quality of a Viper and an F23
and amazing sound record capabilities.
My god, do you guys think it was suposed to be shot like that? Shaky camera and everything.................Heaven forbid it was supposed to look like it was a home video. You guys are totaly missing the point of this movie. Its not suposed to be a ''super man'' movie, where theres some hero and theres a drama and the hero saves the day with perfect still shots. asldflaskdflaksjdfl Well, you guys are complete wackos lol, I loved this movie with everything, except for the end.

i thought it was an amazing movie.
something new, no idea what was going on (wish it would have told us in the end though but it hink its set up for a prequel or sequel).
it was awesome, it showed everything necessary for the movie to be action packed. id say some things but dont wanna give away aprts of the movie
i was very disapointed in the ending though i want a explanaitioon. but thats why is ay perhaps a prequel or sequel.
and even more disappointed cause me along with about half the theater waited till after the credits hoping there was a small clip like in the xmen movies and some others.

That's part of the feel of the movie. The characters don't know. Nobody knows. You don't get an explanation because there isn't one. This whole movie covers just 7 hours. They are trying to put you there, not give you a third person view from your sofa. I liked the movie for what it was. The only thing I didn't like about it, was that it gave the ending away in the opening credits (Or whatever they're called.)... If you read them.

First day I was happy to be working the stand and not the lobby!
I haven't seen Cloverfield, but this is my favorite comment I've read about it so far. "I swear they used a 1985 handycam on an elastic yoyo string while standing on a paint shaker."
I was just thinking, this is the perfect movie for the "energy-drink generation", which then made me realize they missed a perfect advertising tie-in opportunity . . . .

Kobi didn't like it. It had to suck. My bad.
Everyone please disregard my opinion on the subject. A superior intellect has spoken.
