Flipping a Car.,
Flipping a Car.,
Does anyone have a rough estimate of how much flipping a car from its side or just lifting a car from its front equivocates in dead lifting? I know flipping is a bit different but just lifting the front should be the same. I know people will be tempted to guess but please don't give an answer unless you are pretty sure it’s accurate.
Thanks
Thanks
Lifting from one end (front or back) would not only require a lot more weight to be lifted, but a much higher lift.
Not that *I* would know anything about it, but I might have heard that three guys about my size were able to flip a VW Golf onto it's roof without a lot of trouble...and back in the day, it took six of us to flip a HumVee back onto it's wheels after the LT rolled it going sideways up a hill. That one took some rocking to get it to go.

25 years ago when I was in high school, (damn I am getting old) I went to leave a dance after a basketball game and someone blocked me in driving an OLD SCHOOL VW bug. There was only five of us and we picked it up and moved it about fifty feet to the middle of the grass lawn in front of the flag pole... But that Bug had steel bumpers, I don't think it would be a good idea to try that with the new models.
Several years ago we were sitting at the picnic table in my neighbors yard when the guys got the idea to move another neighbor lady's car. 4 guys picked up and turned her Geo Metro and set it back down sideways in her driveway.
She was pissed!

I don't know about any of that, but last Wednesday I watched a Lexus sedan slide down loop 360 on it's passenger side at about 60 mph for a good 100 yards. It then flipped twice and ended up in the median facing the other direction and on the driver's side.
Both people stepped out of the damned thing. Other than being seriously abraded and all the glass gone the car was in pretty good shape. The roof was only very slightly pushed in.
I gotta say, huge
to Lexus.. I really thought anyone inside would be dead.

Last year at school the parking lot was supposed to be clear after school for the marching band practice. There were multiple announcements for days. So one girl leaves her car in that lot right in the middle of it. She was an idiot obviously haha. But the band was pissed so they picked her car up and moved it one lot over.
The parents tried to sue but they got too many people calling them *******s and that their daughter was an idiot. They dropped it because most of the students and parents were PISSED! The band told people to clear the lot days in advance and that is what the girl deserved. They didn't even damage the car, they just picked it up and moved it. Stupid snobby girl and her fing snobby parents. That is the world today, kids become the way their parents are. Thank God my parents are great people
