They willl try to rape you with a "power steering flush" and an injector cleaning... I let them do the tranny flush for about $140. The rest I did myself..The best thing you can do for your truck is DIY.

I didn't pay for it, my husband did it. All but the tranny fluid, that cost about $130 at the Ford dealership.

There's really very little to do for a 30K. Oil change, fuel and air filters and an inspection is about it. The transmission service wouldn't hurt, but it's not necessary at 30K miles per Ford. Most of the extra cost of a 30K comes from the BS flushes and services the dealer tries peddling.

If you do your own services, keep all receipts for the materials you buy (oil, filters, etc.) and document what you did. If you have an independent garage do it, simply keep the receipt and make sure it's complete.

If you do it yourself, or have an independent garage do it, all you need to do to preserve the warranty is the required services as per the maintenance schedule using parts/materials that meet spec. All the other stuff the dealer is trying to sell you as part of the service is OPTIONAL.

thats what i need to know. im a delta airline mechanic and we work on nothing but fords. so i wasnt liking the idea of having to take it back to the dealership get ripped off for something that i could easily do myself.
