My dad is going to be looking for a new truck here in the not so distant future. He just bought a 99 7.3 diesel f250 2wd in october. he mainly uses it as a commuter truck. the 7.3 just isn't really cutting it mileage wise especially when i tell him what i get with my 4x4 7700 series. he is looking for a 2wd gas jobbie extended cab or crew cab. the truck will be mainly used as a commuter vehicle but will need to haul an 18 foot camper trailer a half dozen times in the summer. His budget will max out at about 13,000 which in our area runs up to about the 2002's and 2003's. He is a chevy boy no doubt about that but is very impressed with my truck and wouldn't mind one similar to it. Would gm's 4.8 v8 be able to pull it "ok", how about the 4.6? I know the 5.3 and 5.4 would be better bets and would pull it no problem

 

if he goes Chev, make sure its the 5.3. I think the 4.8 might have to work too hard.
