Actually, no it doesn't. I knew a guy when I was in the military that got a DUI on a bicycle. It was treated the same as if he was driving a car. Had to go to the same classes as if he were driving drunk in a vehicle, went on his driving record, lost his license, HUGE fines.

Above is a link to a local Bakersfield drunk driving case. Two elderly people were killed when the perp ran a red light and broadsided them. Below is an exerpt from the article. Witnesses report he consumed the equivalent of 200 ounces of beer, or almost SEVENTEEN x 12 ounce beers before the accident! Oh yea, his 2 year old was in the car with him and he already has seven DUI convictions.

"New testimony by police indicated Hernandez had seven DUIs on his record going back a decade or more -- and that he was driving with a DUI-related suspended license when the crash happened.

One of the investigating BPD officers, Jason Felgenhauer, testified that a witness at the Park at River Walk told him Hernandez was drinking heavily before he left with his 2-year-old daughter in the car.

The witness, Bridget Bernal, told him Hernandez had consumed four 32-ounce bottles and three 24-ounce cans of beer, Felgenhauer testified."
