Going on an adventure tomorrow.
Inspecting roofs huh.... When I was 18 and just starting construction I was a huge dumbass. I do brick work and in the winter you tarp in the scaffold so the mortar wont freeze. We use sheets of plastic that are 50'-100', they are not fun to handle on a windy day. Well anyways we were doing this Walgreens in the city on Harlem and North, we were tarping in and I was on the roof. We had some 16ft plank up there for weight but the wind was too strong so what does my dumbass do??? I nailed the plank to a finished roof...Not just 2 or 3 nails, probly about 50. Yep I still hear about it to this day....Ya live ya learn.
Yeah man. I see all kinds of messed up roofs and things that people do to damage them. Lots of times people will attach sign banners to the front of buildings and fasten the banners with nails, screws, and whatever else they find. Then when it rains they wonder why they have water dripping in everywhere. I started in Commercial roofing as a summer job back when I was 20 and in College. I never left. I continued to go to school at night and got my BS in Management of Information Systems while doing roofing during the day. I didnt need the degree but I did it just to show I could. After I graduated I told the company I worked for to put me in the office or I'm leaving. I have been estimating/selling/inspecting, commercial roofs ever since.
