What's the difference between the two? I see a majority of FX4's around town...curious minds just want to know

 

FX4 has different shocks from the factory and a different gauge cluster. Get a Lariat 4x4 trust me!

I like my FX4. I am not a fan of woodgrain interior stuff.

 

Depends on the year. What year truck are you asking about here? Short and sweet, FX4 is an off road package. Lariat is a luxury package.

 

I've got the FX4 package on my 03 Lariat... Best of both worlds. Love it, love it, love it.

 

It's more of what appearance that you want....lariat is more luxury looking and FX4 is sportier with painted bumpers, etc. I bought an FX4 with the luxury package that pretty much gives the look of a FX4 and the toys of the lariat (auto temp control, heated seats, power passenger seat, lariat leather, stiched leather dash cluster surround). Only thing missing on mine that I could not get was the lariat message center, but I liked the look of the FX4.

 

I've owned XLT's FX4 and Lariats. Lariats just have a few minor extra options like heated leather seats and express tilt sun roof etc.

 

For 2004+, it's a trim level differnce. They have relatively minor appearance differences with a little more standard/exclusive equipment on the Lariat. As fas as mechanical stuff, every F-150 4x4 is just as capable as the next, regardless of trim.
