Used to watch the old show and was looking forward to the new version.

I got bored and turned it off after about 1/2 hour. Crush is good looking, but the female gladiators need to be hotter for this show to work. And the dude gladiators need to have more than one dimension to their characters (acting like total psychos can only carry a show so far).

Hulk and Layla Ali were OK. IMO, there is lots of room for improvement from the hosts.

Here is the original cast from '89:

I don't know if anyone did better tonight but with obstacles like the hand bike in the eliminator I couldn't believe how much they were struggling. I remember watching the original show and they zipped through that thing. It all seemed a little staged to me though.

Finally got around to watching it all. There's almost exactly 30 seconds of crap between events...unless you count commercials. Works out well for the 30 second skip button on my RTV. It's entertaining though.

Is it just me or did the eliminator seem to be much more difficult this time around?

The incline treadmill needs to be back at the start without a rope.
