ya i didnt get many deer this season, i was kinda bummed.

 

I'm more into target shooting, but if I were to hunt this is the gun I would take.

Muzzleloaders do it all the time.

 

A friend of mine has shot 2 elk with his 50 cal. It wasn' nearly as impressive as we'd hoped. With the elk, there wasn't enough flesh/bone there to get full bullet deformation, so the exit wound wasn't that great. Honestly about the size you'd expect from a 338. I'd imagine a deer would be about the same or even less impressive. I know for a fact the exit wound on a deer with a 338 at 50 yards is considerably smaller than the exit wound from my old 270 at a comparable distance.
