Things to look out for? Nothing really besides the normal stuff.
Things that could go wrong? Leaky gaskets on V-6 motors, Spark plug launching on V-8 motors (super rare on 4.6, more common on 5.4, but still repairable), and breaking blend doors on the HVAC on all models. Other than that, if its been taken care of, 125K is just getting broken in.

Or it could be a rare 5.4 reg cab... Guy at work here just traded in his 1998 F-150 reg cab 5.4 4x4 XLT flareside short bed for a new Tundra

Tie rod ends, ball joints and the idler arm are high wear items on our trucks. I'd ask if they have been replaced.

They're not weak, the wear components just need to be replaced after awhile...

The disc brakes on these trucks are super easy to replace. I can do all four corners in an hour easily.

Yes, they're rare. How many other people do you know who have a regular cab short bed 5.4? I can only think of a few on the boards who do, although Raoul has the uber rare regular cab Lariat short bed 5.4 2wd.
