2008 Trek 4300 Disc

A couple of days ago, I layed some cash down on a 2008 Trek 4300 Disc... just something I could mess around with on some dirt trails...

I told them I'd pick it up in March...

Cool bike. Treks are good bikes.

I just got this one in October.

(Specialized FSR StrumpJumper Expert)

Now I am hooked on singletack.

Nice bike!

I like Specilized bikes...

I can't wait to hit the trails!

If we only lived closer by, I'd meet up with you to go riding...

I bought my son a 4300 three years ago (pre-disc brakes). It has taken every kind of abuse imaginable, and it still rolls like new. I've trued the wheels a couple of times, and replaced a tire or two. Still the original chain and gears. He was 14 when he got it and he's almost 17 now. His little brother has begun using it on the trails around the house. It's hard to beat for the cost.

Of course, only wannabes and kids ride in the dirt, real riders stay on the road!

Quite the opposite, I rather enjoy not having the bruises, casts, and sore body parts that accompany woods riding.

Plus, I spend two hours on the bike and see 40 or more miles of scenery instead of 2 hours lost on the same path through the woods.

i agree you can see great things while staying on the road, like a quiet country road, or public paved paths.

I like that too... That's why I got the best of both worlds.
