Apartment broken into!!!

Well im home from college for the holidays and I get a call from my roomate who went back to school to grab a few things. He leaves me a voicemail about 2 this morning and the police leave another voicemail about 4. Aparently when my buddy went to get some food, the robbers went in and kicked in all our doors and stole valuable electronics. Luckily for me, mine are at home. So at 5 this morning after i check my voicemails, me and my dad drive the 2 hours to school and assess the damage and to see if anything was stolen. I talk to my buddy and he said that the cops caught the perps and they had robbed 8 apts in the past 2 days. So i check over my room and find nothing was stolen. So i basically need a new door frame. I go to the police station and file paperwork. I was kinda mad that i had to wake up at 5 and make a 4 hour trip, but im happy no one was hurt and they caught the people and my roomates stuff was recovered.

ya i was surprised they caught them. The police said they saw them exiting with a handful of stuff and they arrested them. They had been looking for them for a few days they said. Now due to the increased vehicle crime and adding this on top of it, Im kinda thinking i should buy an aftermarket alarm

I recommend a smith & wesson alarm.
If there is a problem with theft i would do something. You got a nice truck, i wouldnt want to lose it.

Shop around, you can get a good alarm for 1/2 that. It still won't stop a determined thief, but it's better than nothing.

I got a pretty good scare on Christmas eve. Got home around 1am, pulled into the driveway and the front door was wide open. I got in the house and looked around, everything looked ok. Got the 12 ga. out of the closet (glad to see it was still there!) and then I heard a tapping from under the bed....I found the intruder.......my "pitbull" Lola! I was running back and forth from the house to the truck before I left earlier in the day, and I must have not closed the door all the way. Lola pushed the door open and hung out all day inside the house.......as least she didn't leave any "presents"!
