I went home for christmas to my wifes house. He mother has a 00 eddie bauer expy. Man that truck beats my 01 lariat with a damn metal pipe. It was so much more upscale and comfy. I started crying. I even drove it, and I'm sure this was my imagination since the engines are the same, but the damn thing even felt peppier. So, now that I've dried my tears. I want the things she has damn it!

Awesome things her truck has mine doesnt and I want. No particular order of jealousy.

Roof rack. Mine only displays the compass and temp. Hers told you MPG left, Temp, and several other things.



Her rear view mirror had lights on it, with the anti glare.



SHE HAD CAPTAINS CHAIRS! heated, and so much more comfortable than mine. I almost fell asleep driving her truck. I got the 70/30.

 

Her tempature control guages were digital. It read the tempature you could set it. Like 72 degrees, etc. Mine is just lame *****.



The awesome center console with tempature control for the back in it. Also the tempature control and radio control for the rear passengers in the console. Pure awesomness.




I want to add all this to my Fiddy. I know there is a how to in the tech articles. But I'm looking for someone who knows if all that is possible. If they've done any of it. Where the got the pieces at. Pics of their mod, etc. The easy way out!

Just buy a more upscale truck, then most of those items are standard. In the 04+ trucks all of these items are available. If you jump up to a KR then you get even more goodies.

 

True, I like my body style more. SO....

 

About half of that was on my 03. The only thing not available on the older body style is the multi-function display.

 

The only thing I really want are heated captains chairs with a nice center console. I don't care about the rest.

I just like the convience factor. I want the expy console so I can add a one board computer that is hidden. On the console where there is controls, I would add controls for the comp. That is my main reasoning for the console. The captains chairs are a creature comfort I like. Heated b/c kansas winters blow big kahonas

 

Yeah I was in your shoes. I had a 2002 FX4/Lariat supercab and my inlaws have a 2001 Expedition Eddie Bauer. Those things are loaded ota, but my newer 05 has pretty much all the same stuff now. With the exception of a 3rd row seat and rear climate control.

Oh and I almost forgot, a hood light. Why did Ford delete the hood light??

I just dont understand. Eddie Bauer and Lariat to me are one in the same. Both trucks should come with nearly identical things. I guess the previous owner before me opted not to get captians seats. But even if you did, you still dont get the nice console like the expy. I know there is a console, but it's not nearly as nice or big.

I really want to keep this truck, even if I get another. I love it. I will buy or rebuild the engine before I get rid of it. Anyway, My main reason was to install an on board computer. I'm an electronics guy. But without the console, it's hard to hide the computer components and wires. I could do it in the cab, but I'd have to remove the rear bench seat. That I am not willing to do.
