You kidding me, I love to visit that forum. Its always good for a laugh. You see where now the Tundra owners have decided to fix the tailgates themselves by glueing a tailgate guard on it?

Yeah and my V6 F150 can out-pull a tractor trailer.

Besides... I'm against the movement of electronics controlling how we handle our trucks.

I feel as if the driver should be responsible enough to know how to drive. How do I know?! Our Compass has roll control, stability control, traction control, etc... you name it, it's got it. I cannot get used to how that thing drives... I HATE IT. I almost side swiped a car because the stability control took control of the freaking steering wheel while trying to avoid a dead animal in the road.

There is a point in which there is too many computerized things in a vehicle... and the Compass is a perfect example of one of those "computerized" things. I hate it... I purposely turn off the ESP, but that time I forgot it... I wish it would remember it.

To answer th OP's question, all of the things you describe require one thing of the "smart" truck. That it's electrical systems have power to them.

The one thing thing you noted it can't do, is because it would require electrical power to do it. Try shutting off the wipers before you turn the key off. Notice how the truck is "smart enough" to return the wipers to their resting position? This is because the "brain power" behind the truck requires the electricity provided by having the key in the "on" position.

When you shut off the key, you take the trucks electrical power away.

As you start to get older and hopefully smarter, these complicated, magical, scientific matters will start to become a little more clear to you.

I'm good for 4 or 5 cases of whatever you like. I'm sure others would not mind chipping in.
