I finally got my badge! But...

I've been working as a detention officer for a little over 6 months. Which means I finally broke my probation and I got my badge. The quarter master gave me the ugliest looking badge he could find, it has tiny green spots and seems as if it has some kind of mold which makes it look tarnish on one of stars points. The significants is still there and I'm proud to have it, but I was wondering if there was any way to restore it to it's original luster and make it look new again. I think those green spots or signs of oxidation. I used simply green and polish which lifted a lot of black stuff onto the pad. But the green spots and the mold like stuff is still there. I was thinking of brushing it with a metal brush. Any suggestions?

What's up McAllen, I'm just down the road in Mission!
I wouldn't put a metal brush to it. Maybe some chrome or SS polish. Is it silver plated, chrome, or what?

I use to live in Mission, 1.5 and Holland, right before 2 mile line where it becomes Trosper. My roots are in Granjeno. I have no idea what it is, maybe aluminum.

Lightbulb

Can also be used to "de-scratch" CD's, DVD's, Lego's and iPods.

I took apart my top of the line ipod because "brasso" got under the screen (plus I had to replace the headphone jack, hold switch, etc). It never got put back together, and that brasso never completely came out from under the display. Be careful with it, it also didn't clear my scratches much. And why would you want to descratch lego's, just curious?

Try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser or a steel wool pad.

If Brasso doesn't work, or if you're sloppy with liquids, try

If Brasso doesn't work, try soaking it for a day, in some Coke, not the diet stuff, but the regular original one, it's suppost to remove rust off a bumper...it might remove that stuff.................

that's because of the acid.

You could soak it in vineggar just the same.

If all elese fails, go straight to muriatic acid for cleaning metal.
