Maglite LED

I just upgraded my old 5 "C" cell maglite with the LED bulb upgrade. Man what a difference! I am impressed with the light output. Much crisper focus of the beam. The bulbs are made for 2, 3, and 4 cell "C" and "D" flashlights, so I had to get a dummy C battery so the additional 1.5 volts would not blow out the led. I have had this flashlight for 10+ years, and it is like having a brand new one now! I don't think that Mag makes the 5 cell lights anymore. I like it because it is the one that police used to carry to double as a night stick. I lso purchased a new 3 "AA" cell LED Maglite. It's pretty sweet!

Thumbs up

LED's are the shiznit.
I just don't like the fact of having to buy the mod for ~$20 when I can get a new MagLite for that. Ah well...

i got the LED replacement for a 2 AA minimag, it sucks! It's not a "maglite" replacement, some other brand, maybe that's why. The instructions had a bunch of warnings about not installing the light backward (polarity), but there was no way to distinguish the right way it was supposed to go. So of course I got it on backward and when I turned it on, it got really hot and smoked. Turned it around and it worked, but next time i used it, one of the LEDs started to flicker, so now I have a minimag strobe light, good for flaging down down help I guess......

I got one of their LED lights awhile back and love it! Mine is a 3 D one I think. I just jam mine between my console and the seat and its right there when I need it.

Yep I got one as soon as I found it. I have the 3 C version. It is amazing the difference it makes. And hopefully the batteries will last longer now.

We install the rechargable ones in every aircraft we build at Gulfstream. They work great and cast one he*l of a light beam.

I've got a 8 D cell Maglite... it's plenty of light for me... not to mention I could use it to play baseball.

I pulled a prank on a friend who was taking a nap in his car... I got my Maglite out, and knocked on the window... turned on the light... and he totally freaked... I don't think it was about the light, I think it was because he thought it was a police officer...

The halogen bulbs have a longer range, but I do love the LED around buildings and such

I have a 3 Cell mag light. My dad got me one of the LED replacement bulbs and i am thoroughly unimpressed. The light output it less than that of the Halogen bulb. I would rather buy a second mag light then buy the LED bulb. Im glad my dad got the bulb for free.

Funny, they don't list an 8 cell light on their page anywhere. Kinda makes you wonder.

Manual F-150, you ought to count those batteries in yours. The largest the make is 6 "D" cell.

I agree, but Mag does not make the 5 C cell flashlight anymore. I wanted to keep using it

Mag lites are great, but I prefer the surefire. It's a little more expensive than some of the maglites, but the difference in the volume of light is drastic.
