No window tinting in winter??

So heres the dealio, I planned to get my windows tinted over CHRISTMAS break. Called a popular shop for a quote (which was rediculous IMO, 80 bucks for two front windows ) and they said they wont tint during the winter, but would sure love to take my money once the weather warms up.

I was a little baffled at first, but makes sense I guess. The adhesive probably needs warmness to cure properly. Since Im in Nebraska, average temp right now is about 28 degrees or the like.

Anywho, am I right thinking the film wont cure correctly and stick worth a crap, or is the cold weather actually ok for it? Anyone know for sure or heard this?

Wondering if its worth trying to call anymore shops or not. If they all want 70-80 bucks for two windows Ill probably do it myself anyway

If you have never tinted a window before, I am sure it will look just as good!

They could do it inside the shop. I got mine tinted in about 35 degree weather, was just in an enclosed garage. They must do their tinting outside.

Did they keep it in the shop at all afterwards for it to cure or anything. I know they do their stuff indoors Maybe I will have to try some other shops then and see what they say....

You think $80 is ridiculous? What planet do you live on?

If he does it himself...he'll know why it is 80 bucks. I remember my first tint job

Be happy you don't live in Los Angeles.

Wait . . . I don't live there any more. And I'm pretty happy about that . . .

still, 80 bucks, even for two windows (labour and materials) seems damn cheap to me. I had front, back, and rear window done to my sedan for about . . . well, never mind, y'all might suffer apoplexy if you saw what it costs back home.

Carry on . . .

:santa:

Well I got all four doors on my super crew, sliding back glass, and a visor strip for 160 OTD. GLAD I don't live in Los Angeles.
