Thats a great point, really puts into perspective what a "truck" is to them

Comparatively, the F150 was selected as '04s truck of the year. And I'm sure guys on here were real proud, chest puffed out about that.

*-of-the-Year means absolutely squat, no matter what it is.

It's going to be interesting to see what they pick for '09. Both Ford and Dodge will have they're redesigns out at about the same time.

The way I look at it, let everyone get in the game. We end up being the winners. The competition keeps the older companies from resting on their laurels and constantly upping the ante. Sadly 1hhead, trucks are already too expensive for folks who work for a living. Going out and buying a brand new loaded pickup is a heavy hit to the wallet these days. Hopefully with the competition we'll see the focus on giving the customer the most bang for the buck while maintaining reliability.

But yea, new truck this year, of course it'll be truck of the year. Can't believe they gave the Ridgeline TOTY. I'm not a brand specific guy and like to look at what the other manufacturers are doing, but even I can admit that it's not a truck.

regardless of what the "truck of the year" is, people buy for looks and function. I bought all of my fords because they have been dependable, good looking, long lasting, and most importnantly hard working trucks. I have been known to put my trucks through the ringer, and regardless if they win truck of the year because some magazine editor says so, I know what works best for me, and thats all that matters. Let them put the toyota, or the honda as the winner, dont mean squat to me, cause I know my truck is a working truck and it has seen harder work than the toyota has seen suits and lil ol ladies

That's unpossible!

And you are making your educated assumption on the fact that it's only been out for one year?

I guess if the Fusion is considered to be a better car than a Camary and Accord one can assume that it won't last as long?

It means that whatever it is was redesigned for that year, above that it really doesn't say much. I don't think anything has won it two years in a row.

I prefer the phrase "even a blind pig finds an acorn once in awhile"
