Why drive a Ford Truck?
I tried not to be bias when I bought my truck.. My dad bought an 87 F-150 when I was less than a year old, I grew up with it as our family vehicle, along with a 90 somethin' tempo (
), an 87 sable, a 99 astro an oldsmobile... an elantra.. we got rid of all the cars due to one problem or another, the only one that made it till I could drive was the F-150, I finally sold it a few months after I got my '05 F-150, but it was always a reliable truck. I test drove some GM trucks but I was just not satisfied by how they rode and how the interior/exterior looked.. I test drove a new F-150 and wound up buying it right away, I love the F-150 like I love my...uughh.... dog
no really it is just MY truck to own

I think the 97-03 shortbed reg cab flareside is still the best looking truck ever designed.
The Boss and Lightning are the epitome of mean looking style.
Look at this magnificent beast!!!

1. Best Price.
2. Comfort. I drive an hour one way to work.
3. The sales Team at Tyler Ford treated me as if I were buying a Ford GT
4. The build of this truck was better than anything else I could find. It didn't look or feel cheap when I sat in it.
Next time it could be the Raider.....depends on what company works for the consumer.

I grew up in a Ford family so naturally thats what I own. I have had 1 GM but will not own another one again unless it is a Z06 maybe.
My truck has 165,000 miles and has only had regular oil changes and stuff up until I got new Bilsteins for it a few months ago and did the ball joints and upper a-arms...of course tires. What other truck in '00 looked as good as this....??? and STILL does???!!!
I have wanted one ever since the 1st time I saw one in '00.....I think it's the sharpest truck that had ever hit the roads prior to it....IMHO
This is my baby....at roughly 160k....!

I chose an F150 because they are the best looking light duty truck on the market IMO, I was able to get 0% financing, and the "Truth about Trucks" video actually really sold me on the F150 over the other makes out there.
My previous truck ('03 Silverado) was more comfortable and rode nicer than my F150, but that's about the only categories that it came out ahead in by my judgment.
Well, my 03 5.4 Screw completes the cycle of American trucks for me. So far I think the Ford is the best. It just needs to last 40k more miles. The Dodge I had was a sorry dog and the Ford has already past it cause I got rid of it at 75k. The Chevy was a good truck and I had it for 118k so as soon as my Ford gets that many miles it will be at the top of the heap.
When the '04's came out I knew I had to have one, I've been buying Ford truck's since 1984. Have to admit my 2000 Superduty had a better build quality, had it almost 4 yrs and never had to take it back for any problems.
Well, my family has always had fords and I always hear fords are very reliable, unlike some other trucks. I cant lie I was looking for a used chevy at first but I had such a hard time finding what I wanted that I started looking at fords and found this one pretty quick. No regrets.
Ford has been in my family ever since I can remember. My Dad has had 27 different Fords, my Grandpa 17 different Fords and I'm on my second. I've got to start totaling them faster to keep up.
Lets see one day long ago in a not to distance galaxy i was in my shed rubbing one out and a ford of new design was in one of the mags i was readin (well looking) at and next thing i know i had a brand spanking (no pun intended) new 1997 F-150 reg cab flairside 4x4 5 speed 4.6. and man did i do some gear shifting that day, (then i took the truck for a drive)

I have the first Ford my immediate family has owned. My dad was a GM man but after so many issues he gave up and bought a Yoda this year. My mom loves her Honda Oddessy and I feel bad for anyone who tried to take it from her. I am the redneck of the family and something about country music in a jap truck just wasnt cutting it. The price on the Ford was right and still to this day I am blown away for how much truck I got for the cash. 40k trouble free miles leaves me with a feeling this wont be my last Ford

Not gonna lie to you. When I started looking for a new truck about Christmas time last year. I was looking for a 97-98 chev 1/2 ton extended cab 4x4 with the 3rd door. I was looking to spend 9-10 grand. I was looking for 2 months everyday in the paper, everyday on the net at local classifieds. I had found a few in my price range. With about 180,000 miles but nothing that really floated my boat. I was in no hurry to buy and was looking for a deal. All of a sudden about 15 mins after the bargain hunter came out I was flipping through and came across an ad that read something like "2000 Ford F-150 extended cab 4x4 phone: xxx-xxxx $6000 FIRM" The first thing that came to my mind was that this truck was going to be an absolute piece of junk, plain jane but I called her anyway because whats it cost to make a phone call? I called her up she started telling me its her husbands truck and I started asking questions like options, miles, what kind of shape are the tires in, windshield. She told me 150k miles, fully loaded xlt, good tires, and brand new windshield. and everything works. All I was thinking was holy **** I am coming right now. On my way their (about an hour away) I was thinking, "man I bet the dash is gonna light up like a christmas tree with all the codes its throwing" Get there and its just dead sexy. No lights on the dash and it started in -35 (without windchill) without being plugged in. When I got there she told me she lied to me that the cup holder was broke and that the end of the plug in for the block heater had been ripped off and thats why it wasn't plugged in. Not a light on the dash was on and they all do work. I took it for a drive and it was just awesome. I knew it had to be mine. I bought it right there and then in the dead of night, like 8-9 at night. I have put on 20,000 miles so far and all I had to do besides regular maintanance (oils and filters) was front pads and rotors, and I filled up my spark plugs and COP's with mud (my fault) but they probably could have been changed anyway. It's also a 7700 series model.
Awesome truck I have never looked back after purchasing it especially for $6000.
