gps?

Guys I'm wanting to check my speedo in the truck. I've put larger tires on and I have an xcalII but it seems like I'm going too slow. Is a cheap hand held unit good enough for this? I'm not sure if I'll get any additional use out of it so I'm not looking to spend much money. Btw the xcal is already set for the manufactures revs per mile, it just seems slow. Thanks

If you think you might not need it for anything else maybe ask some friends or co-workers if they have one you can borrow.

^ i've already asked around and no one has one so I'm SOL on borrowing one(what a bunch of cheapasses that I hang around with ). If I buy one of the car ones I might get some use out of it occasionaly, I just don't want to spend much.

Mine was pretty accurate... I tested it last night-

It even keeps track of how long I've been moving, how long the truck sat still, average MPH, fastest MPH, and current speed.

I sell navigation systems. As far as the best value for the dollar. I would go with a Garmin Nuvi 260. They are WAY easy to use and on sale for $250 right now (check your local circuit city) They have text to speech and over 6 million points of interest. What I really like about them is with each poi you get a phone number. Tom Tom's can blow me they suck ***. But if you just want something basic basic the nuvi 200 is on sale for 199. The only difference in the two is the text to speech. I would say get a nuvi 200wd but you cant find them anywhere.
