I questioned it when I was in Kindergarten and decided there could not be a Santa when I was in 1st grade.

I told my oldest son when he was 5 that the day he tells me he does not believe in Santa... Santa will stop bringing him presents. He is now 11 and every time I ask him if he believes in Santa he just walks away. He won't lie to me and he thinks I am serious about Santa will stop bringing gifts. I figure he will still be receiving Santa gifts while he is College. :santa:

My third grade aged son was questioning it with his mother the other day. And then he finished the discussion by saying there must be a Santa because Mom and Dad would not bring that much stuff. As long as they do not ruin it for their younger brother I will be happy.

3rd or 4th grade for me...

I kept asking my Mom for stuff, and had a list that was more akin to a scroll than anything else... I'd been really good that year, so I had a laundry list of stuff I wanted.

I guess Mom couldn't take it anymore and asked me, "Just who do you think Santa Claus is? I'm Santa Claus!"

I guess the extra-long list, and repeatedly asking why Santa couldn't bring me more stuff, after being told that was too much- and not believing it, kinda did it in.

I'd heard the bells, and seen Rudolph (Roman candle from afar I guess) and everything...

Kids (to me) need to find out from their parents at the appropriate age. I think it's effed up when another adult ruins it for someone else's child, or worse yet, one child does it to another.

X's 3

I have 2 as well, 8 and 11.
Neither one will tell me that they don't believe and they are still excited to get to bed on Christmas eve so Santa can come. (So am I!!!)

Knowing vs believing
