Washer Mayhem

We decided to get a new washer and dryer, and the ones we had, weight a lot. Something that two people and a dolly couldn't get up a small flight of stairs... It's easy getting those heavy appliances down there... but how about coming back up?

Well... while I was sitting on the back of my F150, after clearing some paths... I though... hey! Let's pull them up...

So I got my 30' tow strap that I used to pull those shrubs up this past spring, and use it to pull a washer and dryer up a flight of stairs. What I did was I got a rollout rug, an rolled it out onto the staircase to lower the resistance and to aid in not scratching the appliance because I was giving it to a friend that was in need of a decent wash and dryer as a Chrismas present. I tied a slipknot in the tow strap, and I wrapped the strap around the appliance, and I attached it to my tractor. I then tipped the appliance onto the staircase with the carpet. I got on my tractor, and I pulled it right up like it was a walk in the park. Due to my truck being just the right height, my metal ramps work excellent with a dolly and I loaded them right up on to my fiddy.

My tractor is like a freakin' lifesaver.

If someone wants to donate a victim, just come to my house with it, and load it into my bed, and I'll take it for a spin down my road doing 75 mph.

Glad it worked out, but when you said

[QUOTE=ManualF150]because I was giving it to a friend that was in need of a decent wash and dryer[QUOTE]

I was like "oh crud, hope nothing happened to it pulling it up the stairs", before I had finished reading the whole thing to find out it worked out.

It worked out way better than expected.

The other reason I did it too was because those stairs are painted and we still need to put those grip tapes down to get grip because they are VERY slippery with water and snow on them. Making them extremely dangerous. I was even wearing some good slip resistant boots and I was still slipping and sliding on them. Technically, this was my only true way of getting them up those stairs without me having to go to a hospital. But personally, at first, I thought it wasn't going to pull it up. But after pulling that 400 lb washer up, it changed my mind. I was happy though to say the absolute least.

Sometimes you just need to think outside of the box.

Reminds me of my Grandfather. He grew up on a farm and his motto was "Let the machine do the work". He would find someway to rig a machine to do about whatever he needed. Pretty good idea, glad to hear it worked out as well as it did

PSh, mine I'd just throw her over my shoulder and carry her, could carry her all the way to the hospital if I had to and I wouldn't hardly notice.

You know thw old wives tale, if you want to know what your wife is going to look like, look at her mom?
Didn't work for me, I got screwed!!!!

Oh mann that sucks But yea that's usually a safe bet..

I guess I left out the X part out, but that's what came to mind when I saw manual150's picture and your so right ... - I did my time and got out - just in time

I didn't know what do. I was all confused, having re-ocuring nightmares for awhile there - She WAS actually her mother - one of those transformer things ... A total turnoff...
