ManualF150's Beer Thoughts...

Well, I decided to start a beer thread, but targeted in a different way. Based upon what I drink on average. I like to buy small 6 packs, and try out all sorts of beer and give my feedback on them so others might want to give it a shot.

I'm not the type of person that goes out and drink and throws up, or gets so drunk that I am functionless or what not.

I drink because I like to taste the different varieties of beer out there... some taste good, some taste average, and some take bad or outright disgusting...

One last thing... I don't promote drinking and driving. So please, and I say this with all due respect to all of you. I also don't promote underage unresponsible drinking. Yes, I will admit, I did drink when I wasn't 21, but I did it responsibly.

So here I go:

Tonight is on a brewery in Chippewa Falla, Wisconson, this beer's name is Leinenkugel's. This is the Sunset Wheat beer.

It has a unique taste. It has a bitter-sweet with a slight hint of lemon citrus taste. It is a semi-smooth beer leaving a medium hint of foam, and is considered a bright beer because it is cloudy in nature (one that is rough filtered). It leaves you filled up after about a bottle and half... depending on your stature. There is a 4.9% alc/vol in each 12 oz serving. In my opinion, it would get well with a seafood dinner, or would work well with a dinner that had citrus in it. My dislikes... I think it would be better without as much citrus flavoring at times... but it really tastes good if you are in the mood for a citrusy type drink... where it's not too powerful, and not to weak. This is my second bottle I'm on now, and it's not too bad. Wouldn't take a steady diet of it though.

Here is a picture of the bottle:

Next time:
I'll try to get ahold of that Rollingrock if I can get it in a 6 pack... I'll also stick my views of the regular beers in here, like Bud, Labatts, etc. I'll also get some micro brews too.

From your coordinates you gave me, you live in Franklinville... I live in Central New York. About 30 miles East of Syracuse... I live about 3 miles away from exit 32 going East on the NYS Thruway. :fyi:

You live 201 miles away from me at about 3 hours and 45 minutes away.

I don't drink much anymore- I've hurt me enough over the years but if I am to have a beer, make mine a Shiner Bock. It's Nectar of the Gods but it ain't for kids or lightweights.

Keystone light and Natty light, and lots of it. I'm in college, and thats what college kids drink (because its cheap)

On a lucky night Coors light or MGD (got a 30 of MGD in the fridge right now mmmmm :) )

You should try some Shiner though I doubt you'll find any in New York.

Hey Styx, how was the 10,000? They had some at my local bar, but were asking waaaay too much for the bottle and I never got around to looking for it in the store.

Anyone who thinks bud, coors, miller, etc is good beer should be forbidden from posting in this thread.

it was aight, pretty hoppy, but not too bad, the bottle conditioning helped keep it fresh. not sure how long one would want to cellar this one. was it worth 20 bucks? it was good and among the best i've had but really didn't knock my socks off....... i'd rather spend 20 bucks on 1pint 10oz bottle fermented once in a lifetime brew that was above average to great than waste $150 or so for 24oz of sam adams utopias tho, I wouldn't go out of my way to hunt it down, I just wanted something special for my B-day and it was sitting there
