Moving Stuff

Well... it's that time of the semester at college.. kids are heading back home for the Winter break... and they need to bring everything back home... obviously I live at home, so I don't need to worry about it.

However... it seems like an opportunity for me to get my moving business back in business like I had it back in high school... moving odd things for people. I never did college stuff though... surprisingly.

So here's the thing... I was going to put up some ads around the campus stating this:

Going back home for break?

Don't want to haul everything home yourself?

We'll do it for you!

Chuck's Moving Services

Cost base per mile by truck miles per gallon using shortest distance by GPS navigation and a flat fee of $20.00 for all large shipments.

Call for more information. Call: 123-456-7890 from 8 am to 10 pm 7 days a week.

*Cost based upon current gas prices.*
*NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR DAMAGED GOODS.*
*Shortest distance is measured by roads, NOT crowfly distance.*

Should I embark on this, again?

Well, then they should just be using their Honda Civics to carry their junk and make like 10 trips... and waste 50% more of their money...

Oh well...

I would only make it in a 150 mile radius if anything... I'm not going to making some long haul trip for some college kid... unless they pay me some mondo cash, like if I was doing a real hauling job.

Heck, I still got my old rate charts I had made up by a guy who owns his own shipping business. If I can only find them, and throw them back into Excel and update them based on gas prices.

I still remember when gas was a 1.68... sadly.
