I like em both - but ONLY with a manual transmission. I don't like automatics in those conditions, I don't care which end of the thing is driven.

I tend to agree with that... auto front wheel drives are quirky.

Our Compass is super in the snow with the front wheel drive and being it a stick, you can control it a lot better than if it was automatic.

It is awesome that I can make my truck not spin its tires when the roads are pure ice and snow... people think it's four wheel drive.

You just gotta be good with the clutch.

Good to know I was kinda doin' the right thing with the 'ol Altima! I was using the E-brake to control the rear instead of the left foot! I have to agree with you guys that you deffinatly have more control with a stick than a auto, especially in slippery situations. Good read, thanks
