Fun off road toy

I was looking through soem old pics and found this. This is my buddies zook. The gas tank has been moved to the back inside the truck and there is no dash. Its just a aluminum piece of metal with a couple gauges and one racing seat. This thing can literally go through anything! I have driven this thing in about 4 feet of water and made it through easily! I love these little jeeps. But the problem is it will only do about 50mph top speed. The best part is he only paid about $700 for it.

$700! Wow - I'd buy it up too. Wheels and tires alone are pry worth close to that...

I'm thinking about getting one for a trail rig.

They are suppose to be better than jeep off road. I've owned a jeep and I'm skeptical but have heard so much good about them both online as well as family and friends that have them just for hunting rigs. The wheel base would be a nice advantage. My cousin described it best or atleast the description that sold me. It's a 4wd 4 wheeler only has a heater and CD player.

We have 2. They aren't built for trail, we use them for commuting because they get good mileage and have 4wd for our driveway in winter. Plus they're just kinda fun little rigs to drive. They're awesome 4wd. We had one when we lived in Florence, Oregon near the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. That little rig could keep up with my husbands '68 Bronco in the dunes. The only issue it really had was the lack of uphill power in the sand. It wouldn't make it up some of the dunes with 4 people in it so me and the kids would have to bail out and hike up the hill while hubby drove the Sammy up!!

I happened to snap this picture the day I took the other snow pix. These are the 2 we have now. Mine is the white one and my husbands is the blue one:

We've started calling ours Sammy (blue one) and Suzie (white one) simply because it started to get old trying to figure out which Samurai we were talking about!! It also shortens it from "the blue one" or whatever to Sammy and Suzie.

Sweet I'll keep that in mind. I'm sure I'll have questions, I've never ever ever had a foreign rig of any kind.

One question, how do they do in deep snow?

We where talking a couple of weeks ago (my cousins and I) and non of them has had them in anything deep yet. They weren't sure how it would do. Figured if it stayed on top it would go but if it sank to the bumper, they don't think they will have enough power to push plow any snow.

About the snow I cant help as I live in Tx But they are very light weight coming in at around 2200lbs.
Keep in mind they are 1.3l motors with only 64hp crank so you need gear reduction to do much of anything serious

There is a guy where I go to school that has one all trial rigged out with 35s. It is all beat up. You know the pentium processor stickers that say "pentium inside" He has a sticker with the pentium logo that says "4 squirrels inside" on his hood.
