Ebay Feedback
Ebay Feedback
Does anbody else think the feedback system on ebay is retarded. I recently bought a used rc truck, which the owner claims runs fine, but i havent been able to strat it following his or the instructions from the people at the local hobby shop, because this has been such a PITA i gave him negative feedback and i also recieved negative feedback even though i kept up my end of the deal and paid right after the transaction was completed. Their feedback system keeps people from giving negative feedback for fear of recieving negative feedback themselves. I think the should change this. Anybody else had a similar experience?

Yes , it's bullsh^t. It's there attempt of making you work it out with the seller. The route to go is the DOA refund thru Paypal OR eBay disputes. The feedback can't be used as leverage unless they have already left you good feedback. I agree , if you pay right away for an item , they should be forced to give you the proper feedback before accepting or making another transaction. That would be fair. Then it would be up to you after receiving the item. To me , no-one would leave bad feedback if the seller was on the level. The system is flaud for us , but a benefit for eBay. The less disputes they have to get involved in the better...
The seller and you will now mail each other correct - to try to work it amoung yourselves. I had the same thing happen twice , but they removed the feedback for me when resolved.
Yea, I've noticed that the seller will always spin it back on you. I tried using customer support and all the send you is a check list of things to try-sucks. The good thing about ebay is its still the best place to shop.
ya ebay feedback is horsechit. if your upset with the transaction or someone stiffed you, then you either leave positive feedback or no feedback. if you leave negative then they will do the same which hurts you more. i just dont leave feedback. i hate ebay for this and they dont care enough to fix it. they just take our money and dont care about our complaints or problems with their system
exactly. ebay doesnt care. they have a flawed system and they can fix it, but they choose not too. everything is based off a positive feedback too. i wont buy something unless its 98-100%. and i def wont buy anything from china. dam chit is worthless and so much less valuable. ive been a power seller/buyer on and off for about 4 years now, and ive been completely happy with the price and product less than 100 times and i have over 10000 feedback.

After that's done, your percentage is re-modified with negative removed. It shows when clicking on your feedback that it has been modified . It show that for 90 days before it is totally removed.
Again -
It is removed RIGHT AWAY off your percentage... After 90 days - the adjustment in your feedback info is completely erased.

If you left some , you have the option to modify . I suggest finding that so that you know what I'm talking about. Then write the individual who sent you the bad feedback instructing him how to correct it. If he doesn't have a problem with you , he will fix - it's easy to do.

Oh ! My mistake , I confused you with the original poster
Oh well , this may help him anyway..
ebay has made a killing though.. they charge for listings (amount depends on price of item), they charge for actually selling the item, and if you use paypal they charge on that too. Kinda rough sometimes.

It costs to run that site... but NOT that much.
for us to list on ebay (we have a crapload of feedback) it costs us roughly 8-10% per item listed that we have to add on to the price
negative feedback can be mutually withdrawn.
i KNOW that WE do it IF the customer doesn't contact us prior to leaving it for us to at LEAST try and fix it...
